Thillana

Raga: Kadanakutuhalam
Tala: Adi
Composer: Dr. M.Balamuralikrishna

When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor, it’s to enjoy each step along the way.” ~ Wayne Dyer

Naisha’s remarks:
I hope you enjoy this thillana, I love the geometry in all of the steps, and how energetic it is.

Description:

It is a pure ‘Nritta’ (dance) item where the virtuosity of ‘Raga’ (music) is reflected in complex and vibrant/ rhythmic footwork and interwoven with sculpturesque and captivating poses of ‘Narthaki’ (dancer).Thillana breaks into movement like the final burning of camphor accompanied by a measure of din and bustle in a dance recital.

Tillana was geometrically designed with straight lines, triangles, rectangles, and diagonals, creating precise and artistic movements.
