I am the current President of CCA’s JOI club, and on the CALSO district board as a lieutenant governor. JOI stands for Junior Optimist International, and is a club that focus on building friendships through volunteering. Our district meetings are quarterly and allow for all clubs in Southern California to come together and discuss what events they have been doing. In addition, we volunteer with food banks throughout San Diego, and also hands-on San Diego. Last summer we had the opportunity to volunteer for a week at a Adaptive Sports and Recreation camp and help kids with numerous summer activities. JOI has allowed me to create new friendships, and change peoples life. It is an amazing organization where all members are dedicated to helping and serving the community. CCA is just one of many JOI club chapters around the world.
