Next year, I am going to be the president of CCA’s Association of Youth Sports Injury Prevention Club. This club focus on various injury prevention strategies for athletes, and athlete health. Every couple of weeks we will have a guest speaker come in to discuss a certain topic these include a nutritionist, physical therapist, sleep professor, or even our schools athletic trainer. Throughout the summer we participate in the Adaptive Sports Summer Camp with the Junior Optimist Club, and hold NEDA walks. On weeks where we do not have a speaker we will learn basic wraps for injuries or injury preventions, stretches for tight muscles, and how to foam roll. This club is great for anyone who would like to become a sports medicine doctor in the future, or even to just learn about precautions to prevent injuries while playing sports.
